People are an inexhaustible, unfailing source for Albert Groenheyde. He is a sharp observer, watching people intently and painting them realistic without hiding imperfection. His style en composition are forceful and robust, yet with subtile lines. Sometimes he works with violence, then again quietly. Just like a musician playing on his instrument. His paintings are impressive and imposing. Your attention is drawn to it. ‘When I am touched by people, I want to paint them. Especially my emotion and fascination for them. I wonder what’s inside, how they think, feel, live’. Albert Groenheyde participated in the television programme 'Sterren op het Doek' in 2012.
